How to Deposit with MoMo
MoMo is the fastest way to fund a betting account from Vietnam. The deposit takes under a minute — what matters is the limits, the rules that changed on 1 January 2026, and what to do when one does not land.
MoMo leads the Vietnamese e-wallet market and on betting sites it is usually the default: money moves in seconds, the minimum is low, and the bookmaker adds no fee. The mechanics are simple. The failure modes are where this guide earns its place.

Before your first deposit
Two things must be true before you start, and they cause more failed payments than anything technical. Your MoMo wallet has to be fully verified — an unverified wallet fails at the wallet, not at the bookmaker. And your betting account has to be registered in VND and in your own name, because the currency chosen at signup is usually permanent.
Depositing step by step
- Log in and open the cashier or Deposit section.
- Choose MoMo from the list of methods.
- Enter the amount in VND, at or above the minimum.
- Enter the mobile number registered to your MoMo wallet.
- Confirm in the MoMo app with your PIN or biometrics.
- Return to the cashier — the balance updates within seconds.
If you plan to claim a welcome offer, enter the promo code during registration rather than at the cashier. A deposit made before the code is attached usually cannot be retro-fitted. Terms are on the bonus page.
Limits and fees
Two separate sets of limits apply. The bookmaker's limits govern the minimum and maximum per deposit. The wallet's limits are set by MoMo and State Bank rules and apply per transaction, per day and per month.
The total transaction limit for a customer at one e-wallet is 100 million ₫ per month for ordinary transactions, and can be raised to a maximum of 300 million ₫ per month for essential service payments such as electricity, water, telecoms, tuition, medical fees, insurance and loan repayments.
A rejection at the wallet is a limit or verification issue, and retrying at the cashier will not move it. Loading a wallet from a linked bank account is normally free.
What changed on 1 January 2026
The State Bank tightened e-wallet rules, and three changes affect daily use:
- Biometric verification is mandatory when opening a personal wallet.
- Cash top-ups at service points are prohibited — every deposit and withdrawal runs through a linked bank account.
- No cash withdrawals from a wallet at provider locations.
Practical consequence: if your wallet is not linked to a bank account or not biometrically verified, sort it out before you need to deposit mid-match.
The name-matching rule
The name on the MoMo wallet must match the name on the betting account. This is the most common reason a payment is held, and the timing is what makes it painful: the deposit goes through, you play, and the block appears at withdrawal when KYC runs.
Depositing from a friend's wallet reads as third-party payment. The standard outcome is a frozen withdrawal until the money is returned to its source.
If a deposit does not arrive
- Check the MoMo notification first. No debit means the request never completed.
- Debited but not credited? Take the transaction reference from the wallet history and open live chat with it.
- Do not repeat the deposit before support answers.
- Keep the confirmation until the balance shows.
